Two years behind WALS

September 2016 marks two years since the launch of UCC 66, the first Western Active Learning Space (WALS) classroom. UCC 66 is a general use classroom designed with active learning in mind. The room has no real “front” and instead features D-shaped tables, whiteboards, and moveable chairs arranged around the perimeter of the room. The integrated technology further promotes collaboration, with the ability for students to share wirelessly to projectors around the room using their own laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
